Family Tree Poem by Thomas McAfee (1928-1982) English Professor University of Missouri
Tom wrote this poem on a napkin while watching the Family Tree perform in Jack’s Coronado (1970), Columbia Missouri
Life is a family tree
Each branch says
What we ought to be
To each other
Each leaf is radiant
In rain or snow or sun
And says you love
Your sister and your brother
Life is a family tree
Try to love someone
